Legal Expenses Insurance Group (LEIG) has been joined by the specialist UK general insurer IGI Insurance Company.

Set up three years ago, LEIG was established to help claimants achieve fair compensation and justice.

The Group includes a number of leading intermediaries and legal expenses insurers and seeks to protect policyholders and claimants by providing critiques and commentary on legislative, trade body and regulatory proposals.

IGI Insurance MD Keith Wardell has described LEIG’s work as vital in protecting the injured party.

Wardell went on to express that the firm was looking forward to making a positive contribution to the LEIG and help support claimants.

Earlier this month Tony Baker, LEIG’s director, called on the Ministry of Justice to re-evaluate their proposals regarding possible reforms to the personal injury compensation system in the UK.
